SSS-23 - Christmas Poinsettia

It's Wednesday and time for another card for the Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge. You still have time to join in on this sketch challenge. You may use what ever stamps you have on hand to participate. SNS stamps are not required.

It's hard to believe that Christmas is only 12 weeks away. Holy Cow, where did the summer go. Oh, that's right, we didn't really have a summer here in PA.  We had so much rain and cloudy days that my mums are now 4 1/2 feet tall. No kidding. They were stretching for the sunlight that we didn't have much of.

Anyway, back to the Sketch Challenge Card.  I chose to use a Sweet 'n Sassy set called  "Christmas Poinsettia" for this weeks card. This fabulous stamp set has a total of Nine stamps. Four images and Five sentiments and is an amazing price of only $11.25. So, if you're looking to start your Christmas cards early, click on the link above and pick up your set today.

The images were colored using Copic Markers.
Stitching around the card and center piece was all done by hand using matching embroidery floss.
I used Gold glitter for the centers of the poinsettias.

Wedding - Delightful Sketches

I had to make a quick Wedding card this morning so I used this weeks sketch from Delightful Sketches.

The stamp sets uses were Love Always and Delightful Things, both from Close to my Heart.
The papers, rickrack, button and pearls are also from CTMH.
I colored the pearls using Copic Marker Y28, Lionet Gold.
Martha Stewart Lace edge Punch.

Anniversary Card - The Pink Elephant

I love doing sketch challenges, but I don't always find the time to actually do them.  However, I had an Anniversary card that I needed to make for Sunday, so I went through all of this weeks sketches that I printed out and decided to use one from The Pink Elephant.Challenge #33.  This just seemed like it would make such an elegant card.

The DP and cardstock is from the Silhouette Paper Pack  from Close to my Heart.
The "50th" is from the "Friendship Alphabet" set, which was a special several months ago, And Happy Anniversary is from the "Love Always"
stamp set.

The scan doesn't show this very well, but the ribbon is gold and the "50th" is embossed with Gold EP. Also not showing is the Colonial White Card Base that this is mounted onto. I hate scans, but it's night time and I use my camera in natural light only.  Maybe I can change it tomorrow.

The paper that is punched with the Martha Stewart Lace Punch is actually the old metallic Cardstock from Close to my Heart. I knew I was hanging onto that all of these years for a reason!  *Ü*

The stitching around the card was done by hand with matching embroidery floss.

SSS22 - Winter At Home

Well, another Wednesday is here already and it's time to view my creation for the Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge #22. This challenge incorporated a sketch with a spin. It was a color challenge to use any shade of Red, Black, & Tan.

My card uses a Sweet 'n Sassy stamp set called Winter At Home, which was designed by our ever so talented Chris Dickinson. This is such a great stamp set. I can't wait to get around to using the other three images. So come back soon to see them.
It was colored in using Copic Markers. A little bit of liquid applique was added to two of the stockings.
The paper is from Close to my Heart Silhouette Level II Paper Pack. The card base is Colonial White and the matting is Bamboo.
You can't see it unless you enlarge the photo, but there is red stitching around the edges of the card. I did this by hand with red embroidery floss.
The flowers were white and I colored them with Copics, then pearls added to the centers. The pearls were actually colored with E11 Copic marker to give it more of an off white color. I just thought the pearls were an added touch to go with the polka dot background.

SNSS - Fall Blog Hop

Welcome to the Second Day of the Sweet 'n Sassy Fall Blog Hop. If you missed yesterday, you missed out on some fantastic artwork and you may want to go back and start form the beginning. The list of all of the Design Team members is in the column to the right. Be sure to check them all out and come back again tomorrow to see even more fantastic Fall artwork with Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.

The stamp set I chose to use today is called Happy Harvest. This is such a fantastic stamp set for fall.
Please check out the card in the post below this one. I used the same stamp set and the same sketch from the Sweet Stop sketch Challenge. I just flipped the sketch for this card and used different stamps in the set.
The  DP used here is retired paper from Close to my Heart. The lower panel was dry embossed with a cuttlebug folder and then lightly sponged over with inks.

The "Pumpkins for sale" sign was made using the fence,  I stamped the post and cut it out. Then I stamped the rails several times in a row, using second generation technique. Then I cut it out between the posts to make the sign.

All images were colored using Copic Markers.
All stitching was done by hand with embroidery floss. I switched around the stitching patterns that I usually used and mixed two different ones together because I thought it had a "straw" look to it. Yeah, I know, that's really stretching the imagination. But it reminded me of that in the post before this where I used the scarecrow.

A simple piece of raffia was tied around and three orange half pearls balanced it out.

Ok, from here, hop on over to Sandy's Blog and see what gorgeous artwork she has in store for you.

Sweet Stop Card Sketch 19

Yesterday was the new mini release of two fantastic stamp sets over at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. This card is from this weeks Sweet Stop Sketch 19, but also uses one of the new stamp sets called"Waddle I Do" with Stanley Penguin.

If you scroll down to the next post, you will see another card using the other stamp set called "You Light Up My Life".

The paper used for this card is from the Jingle Creative Basics Paper Pack from Close to my Heart. As a matter of fact, the card below used the same paper pack but the flip side of the paper with the circles with snowflakes. Such fun and versatile papers.

Stanley was stamped three times, colored in using Copic Markers, cut out and layered for a 3D affect. There is a pile of snow he's standing in made using Liquid applique that was heated to puff it. Glitter was added to the dry embossed snowflake background as well as the snow pile. The glitter and all the dimension on this card is hard to see on this picture. I should have taken the picture at an angle.
The half pearls & crocheted ribbon used are also from CTMH.

The stitching all around the card was done by hand with embroidery floss.

Sweet 'n Sassy Sept. Release Blog Hop

Good Morning and Welcome to the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps September Mini Release Blog Hop. Boy, that was a mouth full. Say that 10 times real fast!

If you've come her from Lorie's blog, you're on the right path. If not, you may want to start at the beginning with Belinda's Blog so you don't miss out on any of the wonderful Eye Candy. There is a complete list in the right column of this blog.

Two months ago, you may have gotten a sneak peak of the new stamps when they were a FREE give-a-way as digi's for the Christmas in July Specials. So many of you have requested them to be made into stamps and your requests were heard and answered.

Today's new release is "You Light Up My Life", and "Waddle I Do". Haven't started making your Christmas Cards yet? Well, you can pick up both of these stamp sets for less then $15.00 and that includes shipping. Yes, Sweet 'n Sassy has not only lowered the cost of their stamp sets, but you can now have them shipped 1st class and save lots of money. These stamps are going to be such a big seller that when you get through each one of the Design Team's blogs, you may want to hop right on over to Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and pick up your stamp sets before they sell out.

My card was made using the NEW Jingle Creative Basics Paper Pack from Close to my Heart.
The stamp set is "You Light Up My Life" from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.

The image was colored in with Copic Markers. The snowman and snow flakes are all glittered. For the snow under him, I used white Liquid Applique, heated it to puff it and added glitter. Unfortunately, the glitter doesn't show up very well in the scan.

The snow flakes are a Martha Stewart Punch and the half pearls in the center are one of the FREE products you can earn with the Connections Club program from CTMH.

The hand stitching is done with matching embroidery floss with my own design. I thought it sort of resembles snow flakes.

Oh, I forgot to mention that this card was made using this weeks sketch from the Sweet Stop Challenge Blog. There you will find a new sketch every Saturday. Check it out and join in the fun.

Thanks for checking out my artwork.
Now hop on over to our September Guest Designer, Nicole's Blog to see what beautiful surprises she has in store for you.
