Water Lily - Carol's Sketch Fun #21

Good Morning,
It's a snowy, windy Friday here in PA. Hope you all are staying warm and dry. I thought I'd better get this posted before my power goes out. So, the picture was raken early this morning with not the greatest natural light coming in the window. It is much prettier in person. I also forgot to add some clear glitter to the Water Lillies before taking the picture.
The inspiration for my card today came from Carol's Sketch Fun #21. Ir's amazing how some days I pnder over which sketch I want to use which which stamps. But, as soon as I saw this sketch, I knew what images to use. The half circle at the bottom of the sketch I wanted to resemble pond water. The Cherry Blossom branch was a bugger to cut out but so well worth all the time. It just added that extra touch. It is then poped up with foam tape. Over at Crafty Creations, the challenge  #56 was to cut it out and pop it up.
Inky Impressions is asking to Think Spring for their challenge this week.

The Digi images for this card are from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and were designed by the Great Talents of Leah Cornelius. The water Lily and Cherry Blossom Branch are from her Asian Influence Collection.

I printed out the images and colored them with Copic Markers.
The Designer Papers are from the Unforgettable Collection from Close to my Heart. I think it goes perfect with these images.

The Hand Stitching around the card was done with matching Embroidery Floss.

June Rose - SCS Sketch 269

Well here we are again with another snowy day. However, it is so beautiful outside. God sure paints Gorgeous pictures. Doesn't He?
Yes, I have been wanting winter over, and my cards are all designed for Spring, but with such beauty, how can I complain.

Today is Sweet 'n Sassy Digi day over at SNR. The challenge there is to create a card using stripes. So, why not make a card and hop on over to SNR (link above) and show us your card. All instructions will be given there. You will receive a FREE Digi just for playing along and submitting your card by 10:00 PM est. tonight. If you have your card submitted by 10:00 PM est on Monday, your name will go in for a drawing to win $10 in Digi's from the SNSS Store.

Now onto my card. The inspiration for this card came from the Split Coast Stampers sketch 269, and the Challenge of stripes over at SNR.
The Digi  image is called June Rose and was just released the other day at Sweet 'n Sassy. It is in the collection of Birth Month Flowers by our ever talented Leah Cornelius. It was printed from my computer and colored in with Copic Markers.
The edges of the roses were then topped with stickles glitter for just that little bit of sparkle.

The papers, ribbon and brads are from Close to my Heart and the punches used are from Fiskars.
The Hand Stitching around the card was done with matching Embroidery Floss.

Pansies in Tea Cup - Squigglefly Challenge 37

Here's another card I finished yesterday. I went with my husband to the hospital for test and took some card bases along to stitch while I waited. Well, I wasn't going to post this until tomorrow, but I got some fantastic images from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and I have two cards in the works. One of which will be posted tomorrow for Digi Day with SNSS over at  SNR

We have another fun challenge planned for Digi Day tomorrow, but this time we thought we'd give you a freebie for joining us (you must play along by 10pm EST tomorrow( Thursday, 2.25) night for the freebie), PLUS we'll be drawing one lucky winner who plays along by Monday morning who will win a $10 digi credit to the store!!

This card was inspired by Squigglefly Challenge 37. I am so glad I purchased the Jumbo Coluzzle Circle template before Provocraft discontinued making them. It saves me the trouble of trying to find a bowl the right size to trace around.
This card was also made for the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge this week to use flowers. This was an easy one for me since most of my cards have flowers..
My card was also entered at One stitch at a time Challenge Blog. This challenge was to use stitching. Well, 99% of my cards have stitching! *Ü*

The image for this card is a Digi stamp from Fred She Said. The image was printed then colored with Copic Markers.

The Happy Birthday & papers are from Close to my Heart.

The white pearls were colored with Copic Markers to match.
The Hand stitching around the card was done with matching Embroidery floss.

Lily Of The Valley - Pink Elephant Sketch Challenge 55

Well, as you can see from my many past posts, that I am ready for Spring. This week has been damp and dreary and they are calling for another snow storm tomorrow and tomorrow night. Just three more weeks until it is officially Spring. I can't wait.

For this card, I was inspired by sketch 55 from The Pink Elephant.

I have to confess my addiction here. I thought the only one I had was sketch challenges, but I have come to realize that the other one is Flowers. You could take away all of my stamps and just leave my flowers and I'd be a happy camper. I'm really a push-over for a great flower image and this just happens to be one that I didn't have in my collection. It is Lily of the Valley, a Digi stamp from Fred She Said.  I added some clear glitter to the flowers for just a little sparkle.

If you like flowers too, wait until you see what I have the remainder of this week. I just saw some newly released flower digi's from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. I can't wiait to get my hands on those beauties.

The ribbon and papers are from Close to my Heart. The border punch is Fiskars.
The Hand Stitching around the card was done with matching Embroidery Floss.

Lilies - Lili of the Valley Sketch Challenge 47

Here is a card inspired by a new challenge blog I just found called Lili of the Valley.

I used a stamp set called Enjoy Every Moment from Close to my Heart. I just can't stop creating cards with theis set. It's just so beautiful. The Lillies is just one of three stamps in this set.
They were stamped with Black Memento Ink twice, colored with Copic Markers and one set was cut out and mounted with foam tape on top of the other for more dimensiion.

The beautiful designer paper was from the Close to my Heart January special, but no longer available.

The Hand stitching around the card was done with matching embroidery floss.

Birthday Cake Cocoa - Taylored Expressions 100

Here is a card I started making earlier in the week for My Granddaughter's 3rd birthday, which is today.
The colors are terrible on this photo but the natural lighting wasn't the best and I didn't realize it before giving her the card.

I started with a great sketch from Taylored Expressions 100.

The icing on the cake, number 3, and candles are covered with sticklies glitter glue.
The cake image has only one candle, but I printed the candle two more times so mine could have three.
The designer papers I used are all retired from Close to my Heart.
The Hand Stitching was all done with matching Embroidery floss.

They had a combined party for both. Here is Mya and Jeffrey.

The card in the post below this one was his baptism card.

Baby Blessings - Charisma Cardz Sketch Challenge

I just happened to stumble across Charisma Cardz Challenge Blog for the first time and thought I would try out their lovely sketch challenge this week. You know I'm addicted to challenges and especially sketches.
I needed a Baptism card for my grandson fro tomorrow and this sketch is perfect.
I used a beautiful stamp set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps called "Elegant Blessings".

The construction of this card didn't turn out exactly like I planned, but I really like the outcome. I was planning on an All White Card, but I kept adding just a little blue here and there and so much for the All White! However, this card was very difficult to photograph. The colors just look a little washed out. But, maybe it's jus my monitor.

I used two different cuttlebug embossing folders for the backgrounds
I wasn't certain if I wanted to go with the baby blue or white for the hand stitching around the card. But I think the blue was the right choice.
This card took me forever to make. But, when it's for a family member who will have it in his scrapbook for the rest of his life, you strive for perfection!

CTMH Lillies - MMSC41

I'm back with another card inspired by a sketch Challenge from Midnight Madness #43. Gotta love their sketches!!!

For this card I used the Lillies from a Close to my Heart stamp set called "Enjoy Every Moment".
The designer paper used is from the Veranda Paper Pack.
The Buttons are clear buttons that were backed with matching designer paper from the same pack.
The image was stamped twice, heat embossed with Clear EP, colored with Copic Markers, and layered.

The emtire front was hand stitched with matching embroidery floss.

Basic Grey Sketch and Penny Black Stamps

Today's card was inspired by a sketch challenge for week 13 over at the Basic Grey Blog.  You must use at least one Basic Grey Product, which is my designer paper. I've had this around for a while and not even sure which pack it is from. But, I love it. But then I love most Basic Grey Paper.

This Great Stamp is from Penny Black. Gotta Love Penny Black Stamps!!! Now that it's spring, you'll be seems more of my cards made with them.
So, this card was also made for the Penny Black Challenge week 88.

I used Stickles glitter in the centers of the flowers and Matching embroidery Floss for the Hand Stitching around the card.

Forget-Me-Not - Tuesday Morning Sketches

I love to play along with sketch challenges. But, sometimes, I forget to mark the closing dates on some. This sketch is from Tuesday Morning Sketches #32. I missed the deadline, which was Sunday night, but no big deal. I like the card.

I used retired Close to my Heart papers and a stamp set form Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, called Forget-Me-Not. And if you love it, you may be able to still pick up your set for 50% off, while supplies last. So hurry on over today before they are gone.
The image was stamped TWICE with Black Memento Ink, then heat embossed with clear EP. Same for the sentiment.
The image was then colored in with copic markers and one was cut out. Including all of the tiny holes between the flowers. Very tedious but well worth the time. It was then layered over the first image with foam tape.
The Hand Stitching around the card was done with matching embroidery floss.

Purple Iris - MMSC-40

Good morning on this Beautiful Sunny Presidents Day. After getting 2 feet of snow last Wednesday, they are calling for another 6" later today. Joy of Joys.
Well, here is a Spring card for you to enjoy if you also have snow you don't know where to go with.  I wanted to post this yesterday, since I am trying to make a card a day, however, this one seemed to take me forever to make.

The inspiration for this one came from Midnight Madness Sketch 40. I just love their sketch again this week. They actually give you a choice of two sketches. One simple and one more dramatic. Yes, I always go for dramatic.
I drew the left hand side piece free hand and then used the swiss dots embossing folder on it. It started out as a monochromatic card in Amethyst, but once I added that touch of yellow to the Iris, I decided to even it out with more yellow.

Other Challenges for this card:
Incy Wincy Designs Challenge 30 to use punches. I used four differnt punches for my card.
C.R.A.F.T Challenge 37 - Digi Coloring
Pile It On Challenge #6 - Flowers.

I used a Digi image from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps called February Iris. I printed it out and colored it twice. Then cut the second one including all of the tiny inside parts. Gee, maybe that's why it took me forever to make this cards! Then I mounted it on top of the first colored image with foam tape fore a 3D affect.

The The cardstock is Amethyst & the DP is from a retired pack from Close to my Heart.  The flowers and leaves were made with punches.
The Hand stitching around the card was done with matching Amethyst Embroidery Floss.

Spring Birdhouse - SSS43

I've been creating SPRING cards lately in an attempt to ward off the winter Blahs. I'm really tired of all this snow. I shouldn't complain becasue it really is pretty to look at and I don't have to go out and drive in it.

Anyway, here is my card for the Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge. If you've never tried a sketch challenge, you don't know what you're missing. Head on over and give us a try this week.

For my card I used a newly released Digi stamp from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, called Spring Mailbox. I had to take the picture of my card at night rather than with natural light, so the colors are a little off. The bird really looks a weird shade of blue, but he's not.  The image was colored in with Copic Markers.
I had to turn the card 90° because I printed the image a little bigger then I wanted.

The designer papers, cardstock, ribbon and brads are from Close to my Heart.
The flower is scrunched up matching cardstock.

I added prisma glitter to the flowers and to the edges of the big scrunched flower.
The Hand Stitching around the card was done with matching embroidery floss.

Just Chicken In - SC267

My card today was inspired from this weeks Split Coast Stampers sketch 267.
When I saw this sketch I was overly excited because I had these fabulous Digi stamps from Sweet 'n Sassy stamps in my mind to create it. The digi's are called Henrieta Hen & Spring Chicks.  I'm so glad that my mind and my paper came together.
The images were colore with Copic Markers.

The designer paper I used is retired paper from Close to my Heart. I used a cuttlebug embossing folder to give the yellow behind the chicks a little texture.

After I printed out the sentiment, I cut it with a Nestabilities die and sponged the inside edges with matching ink from CTMH.

The edges of the card were Hand Stitched with matching embroidery floss.

Naughty Kitty - Sweet Sunday 55 - And Snow Pics

I'm sitting here today creating cards and watching the beautiful snow fall outside. That's only because I don't have to go anywhere in it. We've already gotten 2 feet of snow and it's still predicted to snow into the evening. So, as long as the power doesn't go out, I'm snug as a bug in a rug!

My card today was inspired by a sketch from the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 55.

I used a newly release Digi Stamp from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps called "Naughty Kitty"  Isn't he just the cutest with the dirt and plant on his head. The image was colored in with Copic Markers.

The designer paper is from the Caboodle pack from Close to my heart.
Matching ric rak and ribbon from the CTMH Sorbet collection.

The Hand Stitching around the card was done with matching embroidery floss.

Now, here are some of my pictures that I just took. It's been snowing for 23 hours and hasn't stopped yet.
These are not snow drifts. That will probably come tomorrow when the wind picks up. This is actual snow accumulation from just today. They expect it to snow into the night.
They have declared a Stae of Emergency in most of PA. as well as surrounding states.

This is my husbands car. He moved it off the driveway next to our granddaughter's tiny tikes play area. Both are burried.

This is the snow on the raiking of my deck. To the left is my fish pond. Who Knew?

This is my patio table and chair, nimus the cushions. Behind it is the snow on the railing.

Flower Bunch & Watering Can - Mojo 125

Well, here in Pennsylvania, we're gearing up for another big snow storm. We just had one on Sunday and now only Tuesday and we're going to get hammered again. So, I'm busy making spring cards to try and ward off the winter blahs!

For my inspiration on this card, I used the Mojo Monday Sketch 125.  They have such fantastic sketches each week.

The images used are Brand Spankin NEW Digi Stamps from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. I combined the Flower Bouquet and the Watering Can.
The images were printed and colored with Copic markers. Then cut out and assembled together. I cut a slit in the watering can so the flower stems would slide in. I actually used two flower bunches.
Did you know that Sweet 'n Sassy is now releasing new digi's several times a week???

I used some stickles glitter in the centers of the flowers.

The designer papers I used are from Close to my Heart and are from a new pack called Veranda Creative Basics. It iven comes complete with thie really cool ribbon I used.

The Hand Stitching around the card uses matching embroidery floss.

Fluttering By - SSS42

I hope you all are staying warm and dry today. We're having a snow storm here on the East Coast. But, it is a great time to play along with the sketch challenge over at the Sweet Stop Blog.

I have some exciting news!  Since the change over from Clear stamps to all Digi stamps, I am now on the Sweet 'n Sassy Digi DT and I am also a Sugar Baby, which is the DT for the Sweet Stop Sketch Blog. Not only am I a Sugar Baby, but I am also the DT Coordinator.  Whoo Hoo!!!

So, the sketch challenge this week is to make a Circle Card.

My card is 5 1/4" round.
I used a NEW DSigi stamp from Sweet 'n Sassy called Fluttering By. It was designed by the ever so talented Deedee Anderson.  It was printed and colored with Copic Markers.

The Designer papers, ribbon & brads are from Close to my Heart.

Christ Arose - SC266 Sketch Challenge

Today's card uses a sketch from Split Coast Stampers Wednesday Sketch Challenge. The cool thing about this is that Korin Sutherland, Owner of Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, and a very Dear Friend, is hosting the sketch challenge this week.
I love combining challenges when I can. Over at Mo's Digital Pencil, the theme is "wood" or "would". I thought this just tied in perfectly.

I used a NEW Digi Stamp from Sweet 'n Sassy called Christ Arose. This image was created by the ever so talented Korin Sutherland.

The Designer Paper is a retired pack from Close to my Heart. I almost hated to use it becasue I like it so much and when it's gone, it's gone!
I think that's the true sign of a paper hoarder.
The image was printed out on my computer then colored with Copic Markers. The colors looks much better in person.
The Hand Stitching was done with matching embroidery floss.
