Christmas Rose and Candles

Tis the season for Christmas Card making!

My card today is using a fantastic pre-colored digi from Fred She Said called Christmas Rose.
I used a set of Spellbinder dies to cut image and mat.
The rose was fussy cut twice. Once with leaves and one just the rose. These were layered with foam tape to add some dimension.

Red glitter was added to all the tiny red berried and then to the holly berries in the upper corners. Orange and yellow glitter was used on the candle flames. Clear Wink of Stella was used on the rose for a little extra shimmer.

The sentiment and papers are from some of my retired stash from Close to my Heart. Sentiment was heat embossed for a raised affect.

Challenges for this card:
Glitter 'n' Sparkle - Use some Red
Scrapbook Blessings  - Use Red, Green and White
Great Impressions - Bling on the Holidays
The Glory of Christmas - Glitter and/or Shine
Lacy Sunshine - Tic Tac Toe - I actually used all options but one
Digi's Designs - Bow, Die Cuts, Flowers

Santa with Lantern

I can't believe it's November 1st already. I'm still working on Fall cards for my classes.
However, I just purchased some Christmas Images from Craftsuprint.com and had to use one today. It's officially the start of my Christmas Card Extravaganza. This first one will probably go to one of my small Grandsons. I love the way it turned out.

I usually turn to sketch challenges for my starting inspiration. When I saw the sketch on Taylored Expressions Share the Joy Challenge, I knew it was the right one for this image.
I cut a piece of CTMH Ruby Cardstock and then dry embossed it with the new CTMH Confetti Embossing Folder. I then sanded it so it looked like snow.

I used some scraps of red and white striped paper and border punched one of them.
I used a Spellbinders die to mat the image. and tied it all up with a dark green satin bow.

The Merry Christmas is from the stamp set included in with the CTMH exclusive Cricut Artfully Sent Cartridge bundle.

Other Challenges for this card:
Southern Girls Challenge - Rocking the Stripes
ABC Christmas Challenge - "V" is for Very Cute
Addicted to Stamps - Holiday
Fab 'n' Funky - Christmas
Scrapy Land - Embossing and a Die
Allsorts - Christmas

Little Darlings Baby Girl Card

My daughter needed two baby cards yesterday. Why is it that daughters wait until the day before an event to ask me for a card.
So, I really needed a really fast card to put together.

I purchased a few stamp sets from Waltzing Mouse Stamps last year and this one, called Little Darlings Images, is a sweet set of vintage images.

I pulled out my CTMH  Hollyhock and Pixie cardstock and a Spellbinders Die. I stamped a word background on the hollyhock. Then I stamped the image in Hollyhock ink, sponged around the edges with Pixie and stuck it all togehter. Wala!!! A quick an easy yet elegant card. Tied it all up with a pink gingham bow.

I'm entering this card into the Waltzing Mouse Pajama Party Challenge #3, Old Pajamas. I'm not quite sure how old this set is, but I love it anyway.

Other Challenges for this card:
Glitter and Sparkle - Include a Die Cut
Stamping Sensations - Dies/Punches
Challenge Up Your Life - Monochromatic
Just Us Girls - Stacked Die Cuts

Another Old Truck Father's Day Card

I simply LOVE this Old Truck Image from Fred She Said. And since it comes as a digi and also in four pre-colored images, I thought I'd use the Blue Truck today.

The starting inspirations for this card started with a sketch from Sketchy Colors

Once I had the sketch and the image I thought I was set for an easy peasy card. WRONG! So many indecisions followed. For some reason, I just did not like just the plain blue dot "Wanderful" background paper. So after about an hour of walking back and forth and looking at the design, I dug out an old retired CTMH stamp set with pine trees. Wala!!! Just what it needed.

But then I didn't like the horizontal strip of designer paper I chose for right behind the truck, which was the flip side of the blue dot paper.  So, I switched from the dark print to green cardstock and dry embossed with a wood grain embossing folder

The Happy Father's Day is from the CTMH Holiday Tags Stamp Set.

It's amazing how what started out as being a 10 minute card turned out to take several hours. I sure wish I wasn't such a perfectionist.

Here is the sketch I used.

Love Themed Card

My card today started out to be a Valentine but then as I put it together, it looked perfect for a Wedding card also. Or, An Anniversary card. For this reason, I decided not to put a sentiment on the front. The Digi Paper is from Bearly Mine. I positioned the paper so that the word LOVE was not covered up.

The banner stips & Scalloped Heart are Cardstock from Close to my Heart, as is the Heart Embossing Folder I used on them.

The Heart image with the Doves and the rose in the bottom corner are from The Grafic Fairy.

The actuall inspiration for this card started with a sketch from Freshly Made.

I Love You This Much!

Here is another "Love" card. Yes, I made this as a Valentine. But the more I looked at it, I thought this would be a wonderful card any time of the year for the Love of your Life.Or, an Anniversary card. Especially if made in a different color.
I actually printed the image twice. Then I fussy the hair and the dress and layered it with foam tape for lots of added dimension.

The image is "I Love You This Much" from Fred She Said. This is the pre-colored image and it comes in 6 different colors and the sentiment.

I used some New Spellbinder Dies I just received. I just love these new intricate frilly dies. I also used an old MS Corner punch.

The beginning inspiration started with a sketch from Sketch Saturday.
