Sorry this post is late today, I'm actually vacationing in Canada and thought I scheduled it before I left.
Anyway, this card was made using the Sweet Stop Challenge blog's sketch with a spin. The spin is to use mustard yellow and deep red. As soon as I saw the challenge, I knew the marigold stamps set from Sweet 'n Sassy stamps would be perfect for it.
The image was stamped twice, colored with Copic Markers, cut out and layered with foam tape.
The ribbon is retired from Close to my Heart and I believe it says, "Take time to sit and watch the leaves change." I don't have the card here since I'm away.
The Hand Stitching around the card was done with matching Embroidery Floss.
Wow, it's hard to believe that the kids are getting ready to go back to school already. Where did the summer go???
My card today was inspired by the sketch challenge at The Sweet Stop. This is such a great sketch again this week and there is a PRIZE of a FREE Stamp Set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps for participating. Along with the sketch, you need to have your card related to SCHOOL!
So, why don't you get out any papers, stamps or digi's that have anything to do with school and play along. The Digi image I used is called An Apple For Cocoa. I changed the title of this post to An Apple FROM Cocoa so it goes with the theme of School and looks like he's taking the apple for his teacher! *Ü*
The image was colored with Copic Markers, printed, then cut with nestabilities in the Out Of The Box technique. The apple was printed a second time, colored, cut out and mounted with foam take for more dimension.
I believe the papers are form SU. I won the pad last year from a blog challenge and finally started using it.

My card today was inspired by the sketch challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers and the color challenge of Pink and Yellow at the Sweet 'n Sassy SNR group. I used the FREE Birdhouse Digi Stamp being given away if you play along with the challenge before 10:00 PM est. tonight. So, go make a pink and yellow card, using any stamp or image you have at home and play along.The watering can is also a SNSS digi stamp. The butterfly used to be also but I'm not sure if it's still available.The images were all printed out and colored with Copic Markers.The birdhouse was stamped and colored twice and the birds three times. They were then cut out and layered with foam tape for more dimension. The watering can and butterfly are also popped.The papers are from Close to my Heart but the DP is retired.The Hand stitching was done with matching Embroidery Floss.I sort of had an accident with this card. I have had a bad headache off and on for almost a week now and I thought the color challenge was pink & green. And, because I didn't want to go back into my computer to double check, I just made it. Then this morning, I discovered that it should be pink and yellow. Luckily, not all parts were put together yet, so I just incorporated the yellow into it. I honestly think adding the yellow made the card so much better. I guess accidents happen for a reason.It looks much better in person.
I love to play along with sketch challenges. But, sometimes, I forget to mark the closing dates on some. This sketch is from Tuesday Morning Sketches #32. I missed the deadline, which was Sunday night, but no big deal. I like the card.
I used retired Close to my Heart papers and a stamp set form Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, called Forget-Me-Not. And if you love it, you may be able to still pick up your set for 50% off, while supplies last. So hurry on over today before they are gone.
The image was stamped TWICE with Black Memento Ink, then heat embossed with clear EP. Same for the sentiment.
The image was then colored in with copic markers and one was cut out. Including all of the tiny holes between the flowers. Very tedious but well worth the time. It was then layered over the first image with foam tape.

I have some exciting news! Since the change over from Clear stamps to all Digi stamps, I am now on the Sweet 'n Sassy Digi DT and I am also a Sugar Baby, which is the DT for the Sweet Stop Sketch Blog. Not only am I a Sugar Baby, but I am also the DT Coordinator. Whoo Hoo!!!
So, the sketch challenge this week is to make a Circle Card.
My card is 5 1/4" round.
I used a NEW DSigi stamp from Sweet 'n Sassy called Fluttering By. It was designed by the ever so talented Deedee Anderson. It was printed and colored with Copic Markers.
The Designer papers, ribbon & brads are from Close to my Heart.

This also qualifies for the Pile It On Challenge to use at least three flowers.I also used a color challenge from Jeanette Lynton's blog this week. Colors are Sorbet, Sweetleaf and Chocolate.The images were stamped, colored and cut out three times, then layered and poped for a 3D affect.All stitching inside and out was done by hand with embroidery floss.
