Father Chnristmas

Well, I'm back with another Christmas Card. This one was made special for my dear friend Vicki. She LOVES Holly!!!

The picture doesn't do this card justice since I took the poicture before the stickles was dry and you just don't get the glitter affect. But, I have way too much work to get done today to wait for glue to dry.

The DP is from Basic Grey. The Santa image is from a new set from Close to my Heart called Father Christmas. The Holly is also from a new CTMH stamp set called St. Nick. Both of these stamps will be available starting Sept. 1st in the NewCTMH  Fall/ Winter Catalog.

I used matching satin ribbon and the Hand Stitching is done with matching Embroidery Floss.

Winter Friends

Good Morning and Happy Monday!
I’ve got Christmas Cards on the brain lately. I think it’s because I have so many fabulous Winter and Christmas images in my possession. I think this is my 5th Christmas Card in the past two weeks.

The Inspiration for this card came from a sketch at Crazy 4 Challenges. I love sketch challenges because there is always one around that works perfectly for a stamp I want to use.

The image is a new release from Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps called Winter Friends. Isn’t it just the cutest!!!

The DP’s are from the Mistletoe Creative Basics from Close to my Heart. Even the ribbon is included in this pack. This paper will be available Sept. 1st.
The red sparkles, red buttons, prisma glitter and liquid appliqué, used on the cap, are also from Close to my Heart.

There really is a lot of glitz and glitter on this card. The snowman is coated with prisma glitter. On the hat brim and ball on the end of it, I used Liquid applique and heated it to puff. Then added some glitter to that. The I made som faux snow by rubbing tow styrofoam balls together and glued the dust left from it to the bottom for snow.. The snowflakes were punched from a MS punch and they were also glittered.
I think Christmas or Winter cards just shout out for glitter. Don't you!!!

The image was colored with Copic Markers and the Hand Stitching was done with matching Embroidery Floss.

Christmas Roses

Good Morning. And what a grand morning it is. We are finally getting some long overdue rain and along with that came a COOL breeze. A very nice break from the HOT MUGGY air we’ve had for months now.

Well, here is another card I made using the Christmas Rose Digi images from Fred She Said. I am having so much fun with this set. I just can’t stop playing with it.

This card was inspired by a Sketch from Doodle Palace. It just happens that this sketch is perfect for the image this way.

There are so many different ways of using these images and sentiments. I used the fancy tags nestabilities for the Merry Christmas through the middle. The Roses were printed four times and colored with Copic Markers. Two were then cut out and mounted on top with foam tape. Prisma glitter was added to the edges of the roses and stickles was added to the red berries around the images.

I cuttlebugged the bottom area of the red CS and sanded lightly to reveal the snowflakes.
The Cranberry Cardstock and the Holly DP is from Close to my Heart. It's from the new Mistletoe Paper Pack.

The DP was Hand Stitched on using matching Embroidery Floss.

Christams Rose

This is my second post for today. If you are looking for the Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge card You'll find it here!

Here is another card I made using the Christmas Rose from Fred She Said. I just LOVE all of the images and phrases in this digi set. Watch for another one yet tomorrow.

The inspiration for this card came from a sketch from Sunday Sketch & Stamp

The Cardstock and DP are from the Mistletoe Paper Pack from Close to my Heart.

The image was printed out, colored with Copic Markers and cut out THREE times. The rose and leaves were layered with foam tape then the rose was layered on top of that with foam tape.

I used a punch for the additional greenery on the sides and added some prisma glitter to them for a little glitz. I then added prisma glitter to some of the edges of the rose. I used xmas red stickles to the berries around the image.
Half pearls from CTMH adorns the four corners.

The Hand Stitching around the card was done with matchihng Embroidery Floss.

An Apple FROM Cocoa - SSS70

Wow, it's hard to believe that the kids are getting ready to go back to school already. Where did the summer go???

My card today was inspired by the sketch challenge at The Sweet Stop.  This is such a great sketch again this week and there is a PRIZE of a FREE Stamp Set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps for participating. Along with the sketch, you need to have your card related to SCHOOL!

So, why don't you get out any papers, stamps or digi's that have anything to do with school and play along. And if you don't have any, why not check out the Sweet 'n Sassy Store and pick up a digi and play along.  There will be an extra prize for every 30 people that play so tell your friends and family.

The Digi image I used is called An Apple For Cocoa. I changed the title of this post to An Apple FROM Cocoa so it goes with the theme of School and looks like he's taking the apple for his teacher! *Ü*

The image was colored with Copic Markers, printed, then cut with nestabilities in the Out Of The Box technique. The apple was printed a second time, colored, cut out and mounted with foam take for more dimension.

I believe the papers are form SU. I won the pad last year from a blog challenge and finally started using it.

Christmas Rose and Candles

Well, I’m finally back to creating. I LOVE making Christmas projects and every year it seems that I wait too long to start. So, this year, I’m starting in the midst of a heat wave.

I’m finally getting around to using this fantastic digi stamp from Fred She Said. I got this image last year, but it was too close to the end of the year and I never got around to using it. This is my favorite style of card making so look out. There are lots more images that goes with this set. Maybe I’ll have another card finished by tomorrow night! *Ü*

The inspiration for this card came form a Sketch from Midnight Madness Sketch Blog.

I also used the paper piercing pattern on the corners of the green cardstock. The pattern for this came from Fred’s Fall Flowers and Paper Pricking Template.

I colored the image with Copic Markers and added a little glitz with stickles. The Big Brad gathering the ribbon is from the Mistletoe assortment from Close to my Heart.

Then hand stitching is done with matching Embroidery Floss.

Miracle - SSS69

Good Morning and welcome to another fantastic Sketch challenge over at The Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge Blog.

This is another card that I made last week for a class I taught. Thank goodness for that class or I wouldn't have this card to post today. Time has a way of slipping away from me lately. But anyway, if you want to be inspired by a great sketch, why not play along with us this week at The Sweet Stop.

Here again, I wanted to teach my class how to color images without actually coloring them in with markers. My medium of choice is Copic Markers, however, not everyone owns them because they are rather pricey, so I teach other means of coloring.

For this card I used a method where I used a wadded up make-up puff. I saturated it with alcohol, then added a drop of blush and sweetleaf re-inker. You then just pounce this all over glossy cardstock until you have the color you want. I heat set it to let it dry completely, then stamped the butterflies and embossed them with clear embossing powder. Then cut them out and mount them with foam take for dimension and that's all there is to it.

Serene Silhouettes - SSS68

Here's another  card I created for my card class Tuesday night. It uses the sketch challenge over at The Sweet Stop. The stamp Set is called Serene Silhouettes,  a newly released clear set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.

I used faux flower soft on the flowers for added dimension.

Sweet Pumpkins

Well folks, as much as I hate to say this, Fall is right around the corner. Don't get me wrong, I love fall, as well as Spring and Summer. I'm just not that thrilled about COLD weather and that's what happens after Fall.
Anyway, I had a card making class last night and I teach new techniques. Last night was primarily on what to do with outline stamps other then coloring them. This card was all about paper piecing. I thought they wouldn't like cutting out the tiny eyes and mouth but they did a great job.

The inspiration for this card came from a sketech at "I {heart} 2 Stamp". In my head, this sketch was perfect for a pumpkin. Howebver, the more I got into the design, the one pumpkin just didn't work for me. So, I added two more. As with all the cards I design, I have to just keep adding things until I like it.

The Pumpkins are from a newly released clear stamp set called Sweet Pumpkins from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. They were stamped on Orange CS then distress sponged to tone down the orange and give them some dimension.

Little One - New Releaase

I'm finding it difficult to believe that it's August already. The summer is flying by way too quickly.

Here is a baby card I made using a newly released Clear Stamp Set called Little One from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  It is a set of 2 images and 6 sentiments. I'm thinking that this image would make a really cute Christmas Card.
The card was inspired by a sketch from "One Stitch at a Time." It worked perfectly for this set.
