Fence Friends - SSS62

Good Morning Everyone. What a gorgeous day we're having today.  Last night was the first time in about two weeks that it cooled off enough at night to sleep with the windows open.  It's going to be another HOT one today again, but that's OK. That's what's summer is all about.  And that's just what my card today reminds me of.

The inspiration for my card today came from the Sweet Stop Sketch Blog. This is such a great sketch again this week, so hop on over and play along with us. There you can be inspired with the sketch along with the amazing artwork of the other DT members.

For my card, I used a new Digi Stamp that was just released last week at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, called Fence Friends. I printed the image on my printer and colored it with Copic Markers.  I also used the Digi Stamp called Everyday Miracles for the Butterfly. This set is also available in Clear Stamps.

The Designer Paper is retired paper from Close to my Heart, but I happen to really like it for the great soft colors of Blush, Amethyst,  Heavenly Blue and Sweet Leaf.

The Hand Stitching was done with matching Amethyst Embroidery Floss.

Other Challenge Blogs I had in mind when creating this card:
CCEE Stampers - Summertime - Flowers
Delightful Challenges - All About Summer
Digi Doodle - Anything Goes
I Love Digi's - Emboss It.
Caardvark - Wet or Dry Embossing

Birds & Roses - Happy Summer!

Happy Summer Stampers!!!

I really love summer, however, I don't do heat very well. It's the humidity her in PA that bothers me most. But, that's why they invented Air Conditioning and swimming pools.

So, here is my 1st day of summer card using the newly released Digi Stamp called Birds and Roses for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. Isn't this juts the prettiest image. The image was colored in with Copic Markers.

For this card, I was inspired by the sketch at Card Patterns Weekly Sketch Blog and by a cup cake. See link below
I also had this great find at Michael's last week. I only went in for some embroidery floss that I was out of to do my hand stitching and I some paper pads from K and Company called out to me. I bought three 12 x 12 pads for only $7.00 each. I love the papers from that company.

The paper flowers and leaves were made using punches. And again this week, I'm finally using my stash of buttons that I've neglected and have been hoarding for years.

The Hand stitching was done using matching embroidery floss.

Crazy 4 Challenges: Paper Flowers

Larkspur - SSS61 and sneak peak

Well, here we are for another fabulous Sketch Challenge at The Sweet Stop.  If you've never played along with the sketch challenges over there, you may want to try it out this week. There's a spin to the challenge to finish off the inside of the card and there's a PRIZE!!!

Here's a little sneak peak of an upcoming release.
The image of the Larkspur is one of the new Clear Stamps That Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps is releasing on June 28th. Isn't she a beauty!!!  The Larkspur image was illustrated by the ever talented Leah Cornelius. Actually, it was stamped twice on the base and then once again, cut out and mounted with foam tape for dimension. It was colored with Copic Markers. The raised image has tiny sparkles in the center of each flower.
The papers are from Close to my Heart. Colors are Juniper and Creme Brulee.  There are two rhinestone flowers on either side of the image.

The Hand Stitching was done with matching Embroidery Floss.

Other challenges with this card:
Charisma Cardz - Bling!
Drunken Stampers - Color image and lots of Bling!

Garden Corner - Penny Black

Well, I finally did it!  I was wanting to use some of my Penny Black stamps for months now and haven't been able to work them in. However, the Penny Black Saturday Challenge Blog had a sketch this week and I decided to play along. A funny thing happened on the way to a finished card. I colored the wrong image. I had the entire card put together, pictures taken of it and was ready to put it on myt blog when I realized that the image I used wasn't a Penny Black image. I haven't been myself lately but this really stinks. Thank goodness for Un-du, and that the image sizes were similar.  Guess I'll just have to find another sketch challenge that the other image works for.

The image is called Garden Corner. I colore it with Copic Markers. I colored the birdhouse twice and cut one out and mounted it with foam tape for more dimension. I made some faux Flower Soft in the matching amethyst color and added it to some of the flowers in the watering can.
The Buttons, ribbon and papers are from Close to my Heart.

The Hand Stitching was done with matching Embroidery Floss.

Other Blog Challenges this card was made for:
Crazy 4 Challenges - color challenge - My colors are Blush, Amethyst and Sweetleaf.
All Sorts - Lace and Buttons
Our Creative Corner - Spruce up those corners
Caardvarks - Wet or Dry Embossing - I used both

Smiles - Sweet Sketch Wednesday

Here is a card I created for a Close to my Heart Swap group that I am in called The Humble Artists. I normally would have posted this to my CTMH Blog, but because the recipients have not yet received their cards, I can't do that. But, I'm pretty sure that none of them subscribe to this blog so I'm taking a chance since I need to post it for the Sweet Sketch Wednesday Challenge, whose sketch I used for it.

We have a recipe that we must follow in creating our card and we had to use 6 different stamps. That was the hard part. This card is slightly different then the ones I created for the swap. I added a butterfly to mine, which is a Digi Stamp from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. All of the other stamps are from a Stamp Set Called Smiles from Close to My Heart. I actually used seven different stamps from this set. The swap cards did not have stitching, which was done by hand with matching embroidery floss.

The papers used are from a new paper pack from CTMH, called Splendor. The Goldrush Grosgrain ribbon and brad is also from CTMH.

Everyday Miracles - Mojo 142

I had this card in my mind since Monday when I saw this wondweful sktch from Mojo Monday #142 and only got around to making it last night.

Fot this card, I used the Everyday Miracles Stamp Set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. I love these Butterflies and this set has TWO of them plus four beautiful sentiments. The butterfly was stamped twice and colored with Copic Markers. The one was cut out and mounted with foam tape for more dimension.

The papers are from the Magic Moments paper pack from Close to my Heart. The cocoa ribbon and the Splendor Designor Brads are also from CTMH.

I added some prisma glitter to the Butterfly for a little extra sparkle.

The hand stitching was done with matching Hollyhock and Sweetleaf Embroidery floss.

Anemones - SSS60

This card should have been posted this morning, but I had a unit meeting for my team that is going to the CTMH convention and there just aren't enough hours in the day.
Anyway, it's here now and that's all that counts. It looks much better in real life.

The card design was inspired by the Saturday Sketch over at The Sweet Stop. I had my card posted there last night. This is a great sketch. Why not hop on over and play along.

The Anemonme Flower  and Butterfly from Everyday Miracles are Digi Stamps from Sweet 'n Saassy Stamps. The sentiment came from the Poppies and Sentiments Clear Stamps packet.

The papers, ribbons & Half Pearls are all from Close to my Heart. I colored the pearls with copic markers to match.

Stickles glitter was added to the butterfly.

The Hand Stitching was done with matching Embroidery Floss.

Our Creative Corner - Spruce up your corners

April Daisies - SC284

Good Morning and thanks for stopping by again today.

The inspiration for this card came from this week sketch at Splitcoast Stampers. The card is 5" x 7".

I had initially planned on having this posted on Wednesday, however, my grandson got my first set of daisies and ate them. Yeah, he's 11 months old and eats everything. It was windy the other day and the wind coming in the window must have blown them on the floor, where I didn't see them BUT he did!!!

The daisies are digi stamps from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and were printed out twice and colored with Copic Markers. The second set was then cut out and mounted to look like twice as many daisies.

The papers are from Close to my Heart and I died the ribbon to match the Smokey Plum Cardstock.
I added a small amount of copper colored glitter to the centers of the daisies for a little extra sparkle.

The Hand Stitching was done with matching Embroidery Floss.

Waltzing Mouse - Sketch Challenge #1

I can't believe I almost missed The Waltzing Mouse's First Sketch Challenge. That's what I get for being so behind with my emails.

Here is the sketch that inspired my creation.  I am totally addicted to sketch challenges!!!
The inspiration also came from the Waltzing Mouse Stamp sets that I used. Spring Baskets, Pic-Mic Patterns, & Fancy Phrases.
The Cardstock used is Smokey Plum & Garden Green from Close to my Heart. The basket was actually stamped on Garden Green and cut out. Only becasue I stamped it in Smokey Plum and didn't like it. And, you know there are no mistakes in stamping!!!

The frame was made using Martha Stewart Punches. Now, for those of you that know my work, this posed a challenge since I usually hand stitch around my card. Well, it just so happened that there were small holes punched there so I took advantage of them, added matching ones on the plaid piece and hand stitched it using matching Smokey Plum Embroidery Floss.
I colored the half pearls with a matching Green Copic Marker.

Poppies - SSS59

I'm so busy cleaning that I almost forgot to post my card this morning. No grandbabies for two days so I'm hoping to get a lot accomplished. Yeah, right!!! Too much stamping to get done this weekend for my club Monday.

Anyway, This card was inspired by the Sweet Stop Sketch today and by the lovely Clear stamps of Poppies and Sentiment and the butterfly from Everyday Miracles digi from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.

The poppies were stamped four times, colored with Copic Markers and two sets were cut out and mounted for a 3D affect. The first two were stamped and masked.
I used black crystals in the centers of the poppies, Pink Crystals in the upper left corner, and clear bitty crystals in the small holes of the scalloped edging.
Stickles was used on the flowers and the butterfly.
Hollyhock twill ribbon was used across the card.

Matching Hollyhock Embroidery Floss was used for the Hand Stitching around the card.

Other challenges with this card:
Aly's Sunday Challenge - Sewing
The Corrosive Challenge - Die Cuts
Just Scraps - Use a little yellow

June Rose - SCS 283

Well, I finally finished the card I started on Wednesday for the Splitcoast Stampers Card Challenge. Too many interruptions in my life lately.
I uses the SCS #283 sketch for my inspiration for this card. The size is 5" x 7".
And I used the inspiration for the coloring from my friend and very talented Lorie. Her coloring blows me away and I've learned so much from her, as I do from all of the other DT members.

The June Rose Stamp is a new Clear Stamp Set release from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. This is such a gorgeous set because it comes with this one image and 5 sentiments.
The Butterfly is from the Digi Set called Everyday Miracles, HOWEVER, this set is also available in clear stamps and comes with two butterfly images and 4 sentiments.
Both Clear Stamp Sets are available now for Pre-order. There are some great deals on the pre-orders so if you like these, you'd better get them while you can.

The rose was stamped with Memento Black in and colored with Copic Markers.  The butterfly was also colored with them.

The papers used are discontinued papers from Close to my Heart.
The colonial white grosgrain ribbon & Half Pearls  also from CTMH.

I used matching Embroidery Floss for the Hand Stitching around the card.
