I am so into making Christmas cards already and trying to get myself back into flower mode. I couldn’t resist this image with the paper piercing frame. I’ve had this Digi image from Fred She Said since early Spring and finally got around to using it. It’s called Fall Flowers Digi Set with bonus Paper Pricking Frames. It’s a set of four different flowers and several ways of doing the frames.
My inspiration for this card came from Sketch Saturday. I thought this image worked almost perfectly.
This is one of the first cards in a while that I didn't add hand stitching to. But, this card was very time consuming with cutting out all the flowers and I figured the stitching might take away from the paper piercing.
I printed the frame with the asters inside, then printed two more sets of flowers. Colored them all with Copic Markers and cut out two sets. After the whole card was assembled, I spread them lout and attached with foam tape. I then added Liquid Glass to the centers and added yellow glitter. Papers are from Close to my Heart and are Sky and Sunflower. I used sunflower Grosgrain ribbon for the bow and white half pearls around the frame, also from CTMH.

Sketch Saturday - 66
For those of you that frequent my blog, you will notice something very strange about this card. Not only are there no embellishments, but there is no stitching. NO HAND STITCHING!!! Hard to believe, I know. If you look back through all of my cards on here, there's only one other card that was done in a hurry, that doesn't have stitching. This paper is way too busy for stitching anyway.

However, I literally only had 10 minutes to make this card. I had this sketch printed out from Sketch Saturday to make one of my usual cards and just grabbed it and started cutting paper. My papers aren't even matted as usual. I think I may need therapy after making this card. I was getting unexpected company and the little girl just had a birthday so I had to be really quick about it.
Anyway, the card is was made using all Close to my Heart products. Day Dream Paper Pack, Doodle Alphabet & Nursery Bash stamp sets.

Shower of Blessings, Sketch Saturday #60

I've been dieing to find time to create with this image and finally did it. I couldn't sleep last night so I was up until 4:00 AM playing. So here is what I came up with. This is the newest Digi stamp from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.
This is just the sweetest image. It's called Shower of Blessings.
The paper pack, ribbon, & brads are from Close to my Heart.
Colors used are Juniper, Creme Brulee, & Sorbet. Sounds good enough to eat. Doesn't it!!!
Ink pad is Memento Tuxedo Black.
The image was colored in with Copic Markers.
All stitching, inside and out, was done by hand with embroidery floss. I just LOVE hand stitching. I guess you could tell that from all of my cards.

Sketch Saturday - #58

This is sketch 58 from Sketch Saturday. This is such a great sketch and I decided to use it for the Humble Artists July Card Swap.
The requirements were to make a 5"x5" card, have it mainly pink in color, have flowers, a stamped image cut out, at least 4 to 5 layers, ribbon, buttons, have a quote stamped on it and have stitching. WHEW!!! I think I got everything in.
I changed this one around slightly from the ones for the swap. Mine is 5.5" x 5.5" and has a little more stitching which I love to do by hand with embroidery floss.
All products on this card are Close to my Heart.
The stamp set used is called "Endless Friendship". I just LOVE this set!!!
The papers are the reverse side of the Close to my Heart Bella Papers to give me the Hollyhock pink. The cardstock, leaves and embroidery floss are Garden Green.
The ribbon is Hollyhock twill and a bow with Hollyhock 1/8" stitched ribbon.
All of the flowers were stamped with Hollyhock and blush inks. Leaves with Garden Green and Olive inks. Then they ALL were cut out and layered with foam tape for a 3D affect. The only think not cut out were the tiny flowers.
Dark Pink Dew Drops used in the corners and as flower centers.
Olive buttons with Garden Green embroidery floss tied in the holes.
