SNSS - Elegant Blessings - SSS-36

Wow, can you believe that tomorrow is New Years Eve already. Where has this year gone. This is a very hard time of the year for me. As a card maker and a Close to my Heart Consultant, we work three months in advance of a season or Holiday. Which means, I should be ready to start making Spring and Easter cards, but I just don't have it in me yet. Christmas/Winter is my favorite card making season. Although you wouldn't know it by the amount of my own personal Christmas cards I got made this year. So, to all of my friends that didn't receive a Christmas card from me this year, Merry Christmas! You will be first on my list next year!!!  *Ü*

Anyway, I have this gorgeous stamp set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, called Elegant Blessings. My intentions were to use if for Easter cards, but like I said, my mind isn't there yet. So, I made a Sympathy card. I followed the Sweet Stop Saturday Sketch Challenge for the design of this card. I have to admit, after finishing this card, I am a hair closer to getting into Spring. I forgot how much I enjoy making and using flowers on my cards and I really like how this card turned out. What a gorgeous sketch!

Be sure to stop by on Friday, Saturday & Sunday to see sneak peaks of the  new stamps being released by Sweet 'n Sassy on January 7th.

SNSS - Snowman & Trees - SC259(2)

Only 5 days left until Christmas and here I am still playing with sketch challenges instead of finishing my Christmas cards. Yes, this could be one of my Christmas Cards, but my kids are the only ones that get stitched cards. The others go in my etsy shop.

I just may have to join the SCS Monthly Christmas Card challenge for next year since these are my favorite cards to make, but I never seem to get my own finished in time. Actually, every year I send some out that say, "Happy New Year", instead of Merry Christmas. Those are the ones that I get finished right AFTER Christmas. It's my stress free way of sending cards.

I started this card along with the one below for the SCS Sketch challenge #259 this week. I just turned the one 90°.
Unfortunately, the stickles I used on the holly and the lights, and the gold edged ribbon,  just don't show up very well in the picture. It really is pretty in person. I even lightened it with my photo editing program, but when I add it here, it still looks too dark.
I used the "You Light Up My Life" for the snowman, "Christmas Owl Add-ons" for the holly, and "Trees of the Field" for the trees,  from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.

The paper is from Basic Grey "Wassil" collection. I just love the colors in this paper. They are my favorites.
The Cardstock and the ink for the trees is New England Ivy from Close to my Heart.
The image is colored with Copic markers and the pearls are colored with Copic Markers to match.

The snow under the snowman is Liquid applique topped with the glass glitter and the snow that is falling is liquid applique applied with a stipple brush.

The stitching is done by hand using matching embroidery floss.

SNSS - You Light Up My Life - SCS259

Wow, can you believe that Christmas is only one week away. I have lots of mixed emotions about that. I hate when it's over because my house looks so bare after New Years, But the stress before is terrible. So many things to get done and so little time. My posts lately are few and far between. I don't even have my own Christmas cards finished yet. I guess some are going to say Happy New Year again this year! *Ü*

So, back to this card. I used Split Coast Stamper's Card Sketch 259 for inspiration. The card was made using the Stamp, "You Light Up My Life," from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. This was made especially to play along with the challenge with the Sweet 'n Sassy group over at Paper Craft Planet for Digi Day.
Go on over and play along and get a FREE Digi for doing so. The challenge was to use snowflakes in some way. I think I have this covered.

The snowflake is a combination of a Spellbinder Die and a MS punch.
The papers are from Close to My Heart in Garnet and Twilight.
The image was colored in with Copic Markers.
The stitching around the card was done by hand with Embroidery floss.
The snow around the image was done by using a stipple brush and Liquid applique. The snow under the Snowman is Liquid Applique and Diamond Dust.

SNSS-Winter Wishes

Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps has so many beautiful winter themed Stamps and Digis. And they're also having a HUGE 70% off sale on discontinuing stamps.

I LOVE sketch challenges and find myself going back to some of the same images over and over again. These happen to be some of my favorite ones.

I also used the requirements from Tuesday's Peach Keen Stamps Challenge 17.
The papers have Stripes and Polka Dots. The Border is done with hand stitching with Embroidery Floss, and the image is the mailbox and Holly.

The images are colored in with Copic Markers.
The DP and Cardstock is from Close to my Heart.
It's hard to see on the picture, but I used Stickles on the holly and berries and Prisma glitter of the white pine sprigs. So, it really sparkles in real life!

Trees of the Field - 4

Here is yet another card made with this fantastic stamp set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. This is the Pine tree from "Trees of the Field."
I also used the Christmas Owl Add-Ons for the Holly.

For this I used a sketch from Skipping Stones Design Sketch #1.
This is their first sketch challenge and I'm already looking forward to next week's.

The DP is Wassil, from Basic Grey. The cardstock, glitter and  Red & Clear Sparkles, are from Close to my Heart
The Ovals & snowflakes are from a Spellbinders dies.

The hand stitching is with embroidery floss.

We're having our first snow storm of the season, my Christmas tree is up and lit, and I have Christmas music playing. So, what's better thing to do them make another Winter card. I had to include some pictures so those of you in the south could get some Christmas Spirit too!!! The house is my daughter's taken from our deck and the other is my driveway.

Trees of the Field

Well, here is another card I made using the newly released Stamp set "Trees of the Field" from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps This time I used a sketch from Papertake Weekly Challenge, Sketch #29. What a wonderful sketch.

I used the bare tree in another winter scene. I just can't break away from Winter and Christmas just yet. I used liquid applique, un-heated for the snow on the ground and added Diamond Dust Glitter to it for a snowy affect. Then I added a little of the liquid applique to the branches of the tree and some prisma glitter on them and heated it slightly.

The white area behind the image is dry embossed with the cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder.
The snowflake is a Spellbinders die and has a flower shaped crystal in the center.
The DP is Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses and the cardstock is Close to my Heart.
The stitching around the card is done by hand with embroiudery floss.

SNSS - Trees of the Field - MMSC30

I'm sorry the scan of this card is so bad.  It was a very cloudy, dreary day here and I like taking pictures with natural light. When that didn't work, I scanned it. However, I don't like scans and when glitter is on the card, I like it less.

I hope you all got a chance to see all of the Awesome artwork in the slide show at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Blog on Tuesday for their new release. If you didn't happen to catch it, go to the link above and check it out.
Here is another card from the Trees of the Field Stamp Set.
For this card, I used a great sketch from Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #30.

I just turned it 1/4 turn to accommodate the stamps I was using.

The DP is Basic Grey and the CS, and Bigger Brads are from Close to my Heart.

I also used the holly from another Sweet 'n Sassy stamp set called Christmas Owl Add-ons. I guess you can tell this is my favorite stamp in the set. I seem to use it on all on my cards lately.

Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps December Release

Today is the new December release of two magnificent new stamp sets. Please go the the Sweet 'n Sassy Blog for a slide show of all of the artwork that was created by the Design Team using these two stamp sets.

The set I used is called Trees Of The Field.  It's a silhouette set of six trees and six Verses and sayings. My card highlights only one of the magnificent trees in this set.
$5.00 from each set sold will go to the Anderson Family in honor of their 3 year old son, Henry, whom they lost unexpectedly last month.
I also used the Saturday sketch challenge from the Sweet Shop Challenge Blog. Why not stop on over and play along.

The paper used is K & Co. "Que Sera Sera".
The Cocoa Cardstock, mini brad in flower, ribbon and half pearls are all from  Close to my Heart.
The flower was created with paper punches using the same paper.

The Hand Stitching around the card uses matching Embroidery Floss.

Pine & Holly Berry Basket

This was one of the hardest cards to photograph. There was no way I could get the colors and glittery affect to show up correctly. So, all I can say is, "This card looks so much better in person."

I used Sketch #7 from Friday Sketchers for the design of this card.

This card fits with the Corrosive Challenge Blog for Red and Green. I just love those colors for Christmas.

This card also fits the challenge over at Rosie-Dee's  Challenge Blog to use Red, Green and a bit of BLING!!! Well, there's lots of Bling here. Wish you could see it better.

The papers I used are from Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses. I pulled the light blue from the background to use for the card base, matting of image, and the basket.

The image is a Digi image called Pine Cones & Holly from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. If you've never tried Digi stamps, they are so fun and easy to print. My first love is to stamps, BUT, Sweet 'n Sassy has some of the greatest Digi's as well as stamps. I colored the image with Copic Markers and then topped it off with Stickles glitter.

I also used the Holly Sprigs from Sweet 'n Sassy clear stamp set called Christmas Owl Add-ons. I combined them with a few punched blue pine sprigs, and a red flower. This was also topped off with Stickles glitter. Glittered images are very hard to photograph and see the beauty of it.

I colored white pearls with my Copic Markers to match and also used matching embroidery floss for the Hand Stitching around the card.

Let It Snow - SNSS Sneak Peak

I have an addiction to cute snowmen and honestly, don't have enough of them. So, when I got my hands on this cute guy, I just had to make a card for a sneak peak to this coming Digi Release Thursday over at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. I love Digi's because you can re-size them to fit what ever size card you want to make.

I used sketch 24 from Sketch & Stash Challenge Blog for the design of this card. I thought this layout was perfect for the stash (buttons) I've accumulated but seldom use. As a matter of fact, the buttons are all an off white color, so I used my Copic Markers to color them to match the card.  The image itself was also colored with Copic Markers. They're another thing I'm addicted to. They may be very expensive, but well worth the cost.

I also couldn't resist submitting this to the "All Sorts Challenge Blog" for Today's challenge, which is to use Buttons. This is a great blog that I just stumbled upon.

The snow in the background is just tiny dots of liquid applique with some diamond dust sprinkled on to give it some sparkle. I also used it under the snowman. His face and body also has ultra fine crystal glitter on it. Oh, I also added some fine glitter to the pine sprigs in the upper right corner. It's not winter without glitter.

I went with unusual colors for this card. The DP is from Eskimo Kisses from Basic Grey. I pulled some CTMH heavenly blue cardstock to match the blue dots in the DP. Then just followed through with the pinks and reds also in the paper.

The Hand stitching around the card was done with matching Embroidery Floss.

Winter At Home - Porch - SSS31

Can you believe that Thanksgiving is tomorrow already.  Where did the year go. I can't believe that Saturday I will be getting my Christmas tree already. I'm not looking forward to that because it takes me three days to decorate it. One of these years I'm going to get a pre-lit fake tree. The card I made today brings me back to the reason I still go out and get a real tree. This image reminds me so much of my childhood home, except, my skates weren't pink! *Ü*

I used the Sweet Stop Sketch 31 for the design of this card. This is such a beautiful sketch.
The stamp set is from Sweet 'n Sassy stamps and is called Winter at home. This is one of three different image scenes in this set. If you check older posts, you will find cards made with the other two.

The papers are Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses. The colors are deep red and green with a splash of pink!!!

The hand stitching was done around the card with matching embroidery floss.

Noses 4 Sale

I started this card last Wednesday for the SCS Sketch challenge 225 but got sidetracked with too many other obstacles. Thanksgiving is only 3 days away and life has been crazy.
This card also cover the "Color It" challenge at Caardvarks Blog

I used a Digi stamp from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps called Noses 4 Sale. This image was designed by the ever talented Deedee Anderson. Isn't she just too cute!!!
I also used the holly branch from a SNSS stamp set called  Christmas Owl add-ons.

The papers are mostly the Evensong Creative Basics from Close to my Heart, with a little touch of Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses.

The image was colored with Copic Markers. Liquid applique and Diamond Dust was added for the snow affects. Red Stickles was added to the berries on the holly.

The Hand stitching was done with matching embroidery floss.

SNSS - Winter at Home

Here is a card I threw together very quickly for a Challenge over at Paper Craft Planet - Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps group. You can tell it was quick.....No stitching anywhere on the card!   Go on over and play along BEFORE Thursday (Thanksgiving) and you could pick up on a FREE Digi stamp. The theme is: Cuddle Up :use anything cuddly, fluffy, soft and warm. You may use any stamps or Digi's you have on hand. They do not have to be Sweet 'n Sassy stamps.

For this challenge, I used a fantastic sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday.
I used a great set from Sweet 'n Sassy stamps called Winter At Home, designed by our ever talented Chris Dickinson.  This set has three scenes and several wordings. But for the warm part, the fireplace gave me a warm fuzzy feeling. The Holly is also a set from SNSS called Christmas Owl Add-ons

SNSS - Forget-Me-Not - Mojo 113

I LOVE the sketch this week over at Mojo Monday.

It just worked so well with this stamp set from Sweet 'n Sassy called "Forget-Me-Not".

I wanted to take a non-traditional Christmas stamp and make it into a Christmas Card. But, then I changed my mind about adding Merry Christmas to the card because I wanted to make it usable through out the winter as an any occasion card.

I just love the yummy winter colors in the Wassil Paper from Basic Grey
I used matching embroidery floss for the hand stitching around the card..

SNSS Winter Chickadee - TESC91

Here is a card I made using a great sketch from Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge #91. I knew as soon as I saw it what stamp set I wanted to use with it.  This is the "My Little Chickadee" stamp set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. I just love this stamp but most of the cards I've made with it have been using flowers. I wanted to change it around a bit and make a Winter Scene with it and I think it worked out quite well. Of course I think most of the credit goes to the Basic Grey Wassil Paper that I used. I've been trying to find this paper for so long now and finally found a few sheets at my local craft store. It it just so gorgeous. They are definitely my colors.
I actually seem to be using this color scheme so much lately that I'm running short of the matching green embroidery floss that I use for the hand stitching around the card and the inside.
I used a little Liquid Applique and glitter on the tree branch.
Half pearls were used in the lower corners.
The ribbon is just something I had on hand which matched it perfectly.

SNSS - Self Conscious Paulie

Well, today I finally found time to play with a New Digi Image, from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. Isn't he so precious.
This is Self Conscious Paulie, designed by the ever so talented Korin Sutherland.

I used this Great sketch from Sketch & Stash Challenge 23. I have a terrible addiction to sketches. *Ü*  My Stash, for this challenge,  is the Embroidery Floss that I've had sitting around my house for the past 15 years from when I used to have time to do cross stitch. Now I use it to do Hand Stitching on my cards.

The DP is Eskimo Kisses from Basic Grey
The Cranberry & New England Ivy Cardstock is from Close to my Heart.
I used my snowflake Cuttle Bug Folder for the dry embossing. And colored white half pearls with a matching red Copic marker.
I used white liquid applique and glitter for snow on the ground around Paulie.

SNSS- Oh Christmas Tree - MMSC27

My card today is made using the Gorgeous Digi image from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps called Oh Christmas Tree designed by the ever so talented Leah Cornelius.   Isn't it just the cutest thing!  Too bad you can't see all of the sparkle from the glitter.  The little birdie is putting the star on the top and the bunny is putting the balls on. You can pick up this image along with another tree and two sayings for the fantastic price of only $3.75.

This weeks sketch from Midnight Madness  is just perfect for this image

This card is also a Cute Card Thursday "Glitter Me Silly" Challenge 86.

The DP I used is Eskimo Kisses from Basic Grey.
The image was printed on my computer and colored with Copic Markers.
The sky was chalked with Blue.
Yellow Glitter was applied to the star in the Bird's mouth and Red Stickles was used on the balls.

Matching green embroidery floss was used for the hand stitching around the card.
White Liquid applique was used for the snow on the ground and Diamond Dust glitter was applied before heating.
White Liquid applique was used on the tree and Prisma Glitter added after heating.

The snowflake is a Spellbinders Die and Prisma Glitter was added to it.
White Half pearls used in the corners and center of snowflake.
Red Grosgrain ribbon runs across the middle of the card.
The white corner pieces is a Spellbinders Medallion square that I cut in half.

Winter Wishes - SNSS NEW Digi

Boy do I hate when I have to use my scanner for a picture of my cards. This isn't really this dark in person. I even lightened it up. YIKES!!!   Maybe it's my monitor.

Digi Day at SNR - Christmas Candle

I am such a DORK!!! I used a sketch from Stampavie for my card and when I went to enter it in their sketch contest, I realized that you must use one of their images. But, I loved the sketch and didn't read the rules. Well, I hope you enjoy it anyway!!!

Today is Digi Thursday over at SNR The Card Universe with Sweet 'n Sassy.  It was also Challenge #1. Which was to make a card with Holly somewhere on the card. You have until next Thursday to participate and get the cute bird in mailbox digi FREE. Go here to see the free digi and get the instructiions for entering.  You might also want to check out the precious digi deer and sayings that are on sale over at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.

Ok, so here is my card for this Challenge.  I used a piece of retired paper with Holly on it from Close to my Heart..
I then printed out four of the Christmas Candle Digis from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. Then I made one smaller and printed three of them out. I used one big one for the image, and the other two, I cut out just the poinsettias and holly. I pop-dotted one on top of the colored image and used the other in the bottom right corner.
The three smaller images I colored and cut out and mounted them in the upper right corner.
The ovals were cut using Nesties and the decorative top and bottom to the oval was a part of the Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Pendant Die.

All images were colored with Copic Markers and on parts of the candle, I also used the Copic Spica Glitter pens. Although you can't see the slight shimmer in the photo.

I used Yellow Glitter in the centers of the Poinsettias.
The edge of the card was hand stitched with matching embroidery floss.

So, I found these other great challenge blogs that fit right in with my card.

The first one is Sew Many Cards, Challenge 11, which requires SEWING on their cards. Well, this is my trade mark so I had to participate.

The next is Digital Tuesday, Challenge 31, which required flowers on the card.

The next was The Creative Card Crew, Challenge 35, which required Ribbon and Gems.

Now, onto the card.
The stamp set I used for this card is called Winter At Home, from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and designed by Chris Dickinson.

SSS27 - Christmas Poinsettias

Well, it's Wednesday and time for some Sweet 'n Sassy Stamp Artwork using the Sweet Stop Sketch 27.

Today I used the Christmas Poinsettias Stamp Set designed by our very talented Chris Dickinson. This is a gorgeous stamp set. So if you like poinsettias, you'd better make you way on over to Sweet & Sassy Stamps and pick up this set before they are all gone. There are only 6 sets left in stock.

What I really like about these stamps is that you can use them for any occasion cards throughout the entire winter months. There are Christmas sayings with it, but as you see, I did not use any with my card.

The paper is Basic Grey, Eskimo Kisses.  The images were stamped three times, colored with Copic Markers and mounted for a 3D affect. I used yellow glitter for the tiny flowers of the poinsettia, although it doesn't show up very well in the picture.

The outside of the card is hand stitched with matching embroidery floss.

SS26 - Noses 4 Sale

Here is a card using one of the new Digi stamps from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps called Noses 4 Sale.  Christmas is only two months away. You can pick up this digi image on sale today and start making your Christmas cards with it immediately.  If you've never used Digi images before they are so simple to use. They take up less space then stamps and you can make them any size that you need and use them over and over again.

Take a look at the inside of my card. I made the image much smaller to add just a little embellishment to the bottom left corner of my card.
I used the Saturday Sketch from The Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge Blog for the design of my card. Why not hop on over there and join in the sketch fun. You can use any stamps you want and you could win $10 towards Digi stamps.

The sketch challenge was to be with a spin to recycle.  Well, the best I could do with recycling was the three words "Let it Snow" was something I had printed on my computer some time ago that turned out too small. so I used them here. The snowflakes were also punched from throw away scraps. The half pearls were white and I made them match with my Copic Markers.
My images are all colored with Copic Markers. Yes, they are quite pricey, but the coloring results are so much better then regular markers. After they are colored, they are cut out and layered for a 3D affect. The bucket of noses is cut out three times.

The snow in the sky and on the ground is liquid applique that was heated to puff it then chunky glitter was added to the snow and the snowman.

The stitching inside and out of the card is all done by hand with my own unique stitch. I think it kinda looks like snowflakes!!!  *Ü*

Elly & Friends Birthday Card - MMSC22

Today is my Grandson's first Birthday and my daughter & I are leaving in two hours for a 5 hour road trip with a 3 month old & a 2 1/2 yr. old. YIKES!!!  We are going to Pittsburgh for Kolton's Birthday Party. They guys are coming out tomorrow. SMART!!!

So, here is one of the cards I made for him. I used the Midnight Madness Sketch 22 Challenge for the base of this card. The stamped image turned out too big to follow the sketch exactly. But, it's close.

The paper pack and the Happy 1st Birthday stamps are from Close to my Heart.
I used dew drops in the corners and matching embroidery floss for the hand stitching around the card.

Christmas Candle - SSS-24

Here is a sneak peek of Thursday's New Digi Release. It's called Christmas Candle.  I couldn't wait to put this on paper. It's such a gorgeous image.  The image was created by Leah Cornelius, who is one of the Sr. DT's at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.
This digi will be available for sale on Thursday over at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.

I made this for the Saturday Sketch Challenge over at the Sweet Stop.

You can't appreciate all the dimension and sparkle on this card. I colored the image with Copic Markers, then went over certain areas with Spica glitter pens. The candle and poinsettia is layered for a 3D affect.

The paper is a retired paper pack from Close to my Heart. I should have bought several packs of this before it retired because I really like it.

The stitching was done by hand with matching embroidery floss.
The half pearls were colored to match with Copic markers.

SNSS - Harvest Fruits

Wasn't yesterday's Blog Hop the greatest!  If you missed it, the names are still in the column to the right and I have updated them so by clicking on each name, it will take you directly to their Sweet 'n Sassy New Release Card.
It's too late to participate in the scavenger hunt, but not to late to take advantage of the  yummy recipe.

Here is the card I made for the SCS Wednesday Sketch Challenge.
This card uses a NEW Digi Set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Called Harvest Fruits.
The versatility of the Digi's is what I love best about them. You can made them the size you need for your projects. This is a 5" x 7" card.
You can't see the dimension here, but some of the fruits and the bowl were stamped & colored twice, cut out and layered for a 3D affect.

***supplies***
CTMH - Vineyard Berry & Parchment Cardstock
DP - Basic Grey Indian Summer
Organdy Ribbon
Matching Embroidery Floss for the hand stitching around the card.
Copic Markers for coloring.

Sweet 'n Sassy October Release Blog Hop.

Welcome to the Sweet 'n Sassy New Release Blog Hop. This is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one! Be sure to collect all of your ingredients along the way!
Here we go!

Today you will see fantastic artwork from all of our Design Team members using the two new stamp sets being released.

The set I'm using is called Forget-Me-Not. This fabulous set consists of 11 stamps in all. Two image stamps and 9 word stamps.

For my card, I used this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge, week 106. This is a gorgeous sketch.

I used Close to my Heart cardstock and ribbon and Basic Grey DP.
The image was colored with Copic Markers.

The stitching around the card is all done by hand with matching embroidery floss.
Your next ingredient for our Sweet 'n Sassy Recipe Scavenger Hunt is: VANILLA. Continue along to Leah's Blog to collect another ingredient.

Once you have all the ingredients, head back to the Sweet 'n Sassy blog and comment with the recipe you think the ingredients are for. You just might win this month's new release: Baked With Love & Forget-Me-Not!

And if you get lost along the way or you find a link that doesn't work, the list is posted in the column to your right..
